Our School has been serving the educational needs of children in this community since January, 1993.  We are the first Montessori Private Preschool/Kindergarten in the RSM, Coto de Caza, Dove Canyon area (Orange County, CA) with the majority of our business being through word of mouth, not advertising.  We are a family run school with a warm, relaxed atmosphere.  We focus on more than child care and place real importance on family values, grace and courtesy, independent thinking, curiosity, self worth and compassion.

Our staff are all long term professional Montessori teachers with most having tenure over 10 years here.  Every classroom is fully equipped with the Montessori Materials and a Montessori Certified Teacher and an additional teacher who has a minimum of an Associate's of Arts in Early Childhood Education.  After a staff member has been with us for over one year and does not have a Montessori Teacher Certificate, we will pay for their Montessori Certification program if they contract to stay with us for an additional two years after their certification.  That is why you see so many staff members who have been with us for long tenures.  In other words; we "grow our own teachers!"  We do this because we know that our school is only as good as your child's teacher.

Our Montessori classrooms build upon each other in order for your child to experience learning through a hands-on manner beginning at the age of two and being reintroduced several times during the following years at increasing degrees of abstraction and complexity. The children are encouraged to explore their environment, to follow natural impulses in discovering how things work, do their own research, and to express themselves.  Children are allowed to develop at their own pace, they only compete with themselves and are free to make choices and create their unique self.  Natural impulse of compassion, respect, grace and courtesy are built into the Montessori environment.

Child Behavior Pathways

Child Behavior Pathways (formerly known as CUIDAR for Attention & Learning) is a parent education program made available through funding by the Children and Families Commission of Orange County.  The ongoing mission of Child Behavior Pathways is to help children succeed in their home and school environments by placing an emphasis on prevention and early intervention for parents.  Our developmentally tailored curricula include:

  • COPEing with Toddler Behavior (CWTB) is a 9-week series for parents of children ages 0-3 who wish to learn about encouraging and nurturing a healthy and positive relationship with their infant/toddler.  Classes are currently offered in English only. (parents/caregivers only)
  • Community Parent Education (COPE) is a 9-week series for parents of children ages 3-5, helping them effectively manage challenging behaviors and improve overall family functioning. Classes are offered in English and Spanish. (parents/caregivers only)

ยท         Parent - Child Premium Service is an exciting new service that combines the benefits of the COPE parent education series with a social educational component for children ages 3-6. The weekly program provides parents with the opportunity to learn effective tools for improving challenging behaviors while their child attends a play-based social skills class. The fee for our Parent-Child Premium Service is $500 per family, which covers 2 adults and 1 child for the entire 9-week series. Scholarships are not currently available for this service.

Childcare will be provided during the worksohop if 12 families participate.  If you have any questions please talk to Mrs. Anne.
